Skill Education under NSQF is implemented in 1,741 Secondary & Higher Secondary Schools across Assam (31 are KGBVs).
14 Sectors and 30 Job Roles are running under NSQF-aligned Skill Education.
Six (6) NSDC-affiliated Vocational Training Partners (VTPs) are implementing Skill Education at the school level.

Assessment & Certification

Up to the academic year 2024–25, assessment and certification of students under Skill Education were conducted by the respective Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), in addition to the Board Examination of the Skill Subject as an elective.

From the academic year 2025–26, the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), has been recognized by NCVET as an Awarding and Assessing Body for assessment & certification of the students as per NCVET norms.

    EMBOSS PAINTING MAKING

  • Emboss painting is an artistic technique where raised patterns are created on fabric using special paints and tools.

    Students in the Apparel, Made-Ups & Home Furnishing Trade Lab learned:

    •   Designing and embossing patterns on fabric
    •   Use of fabric paints and other materials
    •   Applications in fashion designing and textile printing


  • GAMUCHA MAKING

    • Gamucha is a traditional hand-woven cotton towel of Assam with deep cultural and economic significance.

      Students were taught:

      • Basic weaving skills using traditional methods
      • Cultural heritage and significance of Gamucha
      • Potential for self-employment and small-scale business ventures


    • SOAP MAKING IN BEAUTY & WELLNESS TRADE

      Soap making is an essential skill in the Beauty & Wellness sector, offering avenues for homemade skincare product businesses.
      Students were trained in:

      • Soap formulation process including mixing, molding, and curing
      • Selection of natural ingredients
      • Packaging and branding concepts for commercial production
      • business ideas, promoting self-reliance and market-driven skills

      This activity encouraged students to explore sustainable


    • GARMENT STITCHING – SELF SHOWCASE

      The highlight of this activity was the self-showcasing session, where students proudly wore and presented their own stitched outfits.
