Special Training

  • Special Training Component

    • Special training is designed to provide Elementary Education for never enrolled and drop out children and mainstreaming through admission in age appropriate classes in formal school.
    • SMC/LA to identify children requiring special training and organise training programmes.
      • Based on specially designed learning materials.
      • In school or through classes in safe residential facilities.
      • By school teachers, or teachers especially appointed for the purpose.
    • Training duration – minimum three months to maximum two years.
    • Back to school (Mainstreaming) of learners after completion of  Special training
    • Special attention is given to continue upon induction in age appropriate class.

    RSTC
    (Residential Special Training Centre)
    This intervention is for out of school children of 11-14 years of age group. The RSTC is run in a Residential mode.  The main objective of the intervention is to bring out of school children including child labour and get them enrolled in his/her age appropriate class in a formal school, and thereafter provide special training support so that they can be mainstreamed in due course. Special Training is provided for a maximum of 2 years.Total RSTCs-96

    Education Volunteers and Care takers are engaged in the RSTCs.
    Other staff like helpers, cook, Chowkidar cum mali duly appointed by concerned DMCs.
    The honorarium to EV & CT is Rs. 6000/- per month. Other staff receive Rs. 3500/- per month.
    Learners get free food and lodging.
    They receive condensed materials. (Sikhan puthi, Evaluation Work, Readiness package, CCA tools, & IEP).
    Uniforms
    School bags.
    Blankets, sweaters, utensils, bedding materials, two tier beds, filters etc.
    Stationery materials provided to learners viz. Pencil, Eraser, Crayons, drawing books, exercise books, Sharpener, scale etc.
    NRSTC
    (Non-Residential Special Training Centre)
    This intervention is for out of school children of 11-14 years of age group. This intervention is run in a non-residential mode. The intervention is to bring the out of school children and get them enrolled in his/her age appropriate class in a formal school, and thereafter provide special training support.  Achieving the competency level the learners are mainstreamed in the formal school. NRSTC is composed of Through School intervention, Urban Intervention, Rural Intervention & Old Religious Madrassa intervention.Total NRSTCs: 602-Urban, 98-Rural, NRSTC Madrssa-456.
    Total enrolment-15159-Urban, 2621-Rural, 16406-NRSTC Madrassa, 
    Total EV & AEVs-1000 (Urban), 116-rural, 495 (old Madrassa).
    The Education volunteers and Additional Education Volunteers are engaged by DMC concerned.
    EV & AEV receive the salary of Rs. 5000/- per month.
    The incentive of Rs. 3000/- is provided to teacher per month who supports OoSCs.
    Stationery materials provided to learners viz. Pencil, Eraser, Crayons, drawing books, exercise books, Sharpener, scale etc.
    The condensed materials are provided.
    Store wells were provided to through school intervention.

    Tarpaulins provided.
    Seasonal Centre for Migratory Children (Non-Residential Seasonal Worksite Centres)This intervention is implemented at worksites for six months starting from October/November every year. Many children within the age group of 8-14 years migrate along with their parents to different worksites. As a result, a large number of children have to leave schooling mid way.  It is a non residential seasonal centre intervention.  The academic support is provided so that their academic carrier continues till their returning back to their native places.  Centres are opened in the worksites, such as brick kilns, stone quarries, road construction projects etc.Education Volunteer are engaged.
    Honorarium is Rs. 3000/- per month.

    Uniforms provided.
    Tarpaulins provided.
    Stationery materials provided to learners viz. Pencil, Eraser, Crayons, drawing books, exercise books, Sharpener, scale etc.
    The condensed materials are provided.
    Learners are provided with migration card/certificate prior to leaving for their native place.
    Black board provided.
    Seasonal Hostel (Residential Seasonal Worksite Centres)Seasonal hostel programme is implemented for a period of six months for children whose parents migrate to far off places in a particular season for work. During this period, children are kept in seasonal hostels so that their school education is continued at the same place. This is a special measure taken to prevent drop out among these categories of children.  The children of such migrated families are accommodated in the hostel from where they go to attend the formal schools where they have been studying.Total Seasonal Hostel 10 in 2016-17.
    Total learners -630.
    The caretaker is engaged.
    Honorarium of Caretaker is Rs. 5000/- per month and other staff receives Rs. 3000/- per month.

    Support to Religious Madrassa Education There are large number of residential religious madrasssas functioning in Assam. Core curriculum of these institutions are purely religious. It has been observed that the management of some of the madrassas are trying to introduce secular education also. These madrassas cover a large number of children of below 14 years age.

    In view of this background, SSA, Assam has collaborated with management of madrassas to provide formal education, accordingly SSA extends support to these religious Madrassa
